The Apollo of Salamina was a bronze statue of Apollo located in northeastern part of the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis, Greece.
History[edit | edit source]
It was dedicated to the sanctuary to recall the Battle of Salamis that the Athenians won and the prophecy received by general Themistokles.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the statue was visited by the Spartan misthios' Kassandra.[2]
