Ptolemaios was the head of the boule around the time of the Peloponnesian War in Gortyn, Messara, Greece, eventually becoming the leader of the region, under the title Ptolemaios the Ambitious.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Ptolemaios disagreed with the leader of Messara about how to deal with the relationship between Gortyn and Phaistos Village. Due to this, he enlisted the aid of the Spartan misthios Kassandra to help start a war and become leader himself during the Peloponnesian War.[1]
