The Ponte di Rialto, or the Rialto Bridge, is a landmark that connected the San Marco and San Polo districts of Venice across the Grand Canal, serving as a dividing line between the two.
The bridge is not only notable for the size of its large arch, but also for its main walkway lined with shops and stalls, which to this day remains a vibrant strolling and meeting place for the community around it.[1]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In Assassin's Creed II, the bridge was depicted as wooden, as construction did not begin on a stone bridge until 1588.
- A Glyph could be found underneath the bridge, just above the waterline on the east side.
