The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a large hypercarnivorous bear whose native range extends throughout the Arctic Circle.
History[edit | edit source]
In the late 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan encountered a legendary polar bear in Norway that had been nicknamed the "Bear of The Blue Waters". After a grueling duel, she eventually slew the beast and looted its head, which she brought back to the Hunter's Hut in Ravensthorpe to have mounted as a trophy.[1]
During the Seven Years' War, polar bears were hunted by European colonists in North America for their pelts. The Templar Shay Cormac in particular encountered them in Fogo and the HMS Sapphire shipwreck.[2]
Animus mods[edit | edit source]
In 2020, while reliving Eivor's genetic memories through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, the Assassin Layla Hassan modified the Animus interface to allow for a variety of skins to be applied to her horse:
| Image | Name | Description | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ours de Guerre | Reda's Shop or Charlemagne Pack |
Appearances[edit | edit source]
- Assassin's Creed: Rogue (first appearance)
- Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
- Dawn of Ragnarök (simulation only)
