Where are the paintings? This article is in need of more images and/or better quality pictures from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag in order to achieve a higher status. You can help the Assassin's Creed Wiki by uploading better images on this page. |
The Nassau bureau was a base of operations for the West Indies Brotherhood of Assassins, located in Nassau, the Bahamas. In the early 1700s, it was led by Vance and Upton Travers until the former's betrayal, leading to his death and leaving his brother to lead the bureau by himself.
History[edit | edit source]
In July 1715, the location of the bureau was exposed to the Templars by Edward Kenway, who delivered them maps detailing the whereabouts of various Assassin encampments in the Caribbean, created by the traitorous Assassin Duncan Walpole.[1] On the advice of James Kidd, Edward later went to help undo his mistake in return for the Templar key the agent assigned to attack the bureau was carrying.[2]
In 1717, Edward met with Vance, who tasked him with eliminating Upton, who he claimed was the Templar threat to the bureau. Though he assassinated Upton's smugglers, Edward did not kill the man himself, who explained who he was, leading the pirate to reveal Vance's betrayal.[3] Meeting back at the Nassau bureau, Edward and Upton discussed Vance's partnership with the Templar Jing Lang, before the former tailed Vance to confirm his treachery.[4] Afterwards, Upton asked Edward to assassinate both his brother and Jing, eliminating the active threat to the bureau.[5]
