Mungo MacBean was a Scottish ironworker during the early 19th century.
Married and a father of six, Mungo worked for Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway where, in 1831, he constructed the steam locomotive that would eventually become the Train Hideout for the British Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye.
Three years later, in 1834, Mungo's health deteriorated rapidly and so his daughter Agnes took over his role, disguising herself as her father.[1]
