Mount Zas, also known as Mount Zeus, is a mountain located between the southern regions of Naxos Island, Zeus' Cove and Maenad's Hills.
In Greek mythology, the mountain was where Zeus was hidden from his father Kronos until Zeus was old and strong enough to fight the Titans.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra explored the mountain, finding one of the Ainigmata Ostraka within a cave on the mountain,[2] as well as visiting the sanctuary on the mountain. At the top was situated Zeus Overwatch, which offered a good view of the surroundings.[1]
