Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel located in southern Peru.

History[edit | edit source]

The Late Horizon[edit | edit source]

In 1536, Tuti Cusi, councilor to the Incan Emperor Manco Inca Yupanqui, sentenced Quila and Gonzalo Pardo to death, having a group of guards and his son, Ayar Acar, escort the pair to Machu Picchu to be sacrificed in the name of the Sapa Inca. Having pieced together the plot to kill the emperor while on the journey there, upon arrival, Quila pleaded with Ayar, revealing it was Tuti Cusi behind it.[1] Ayar dealt with the other guards and freed Quila and Gonzalo before taking a horse to return to Cusco in time to stop the assassination.[2]

Modern era[edit | edit source]

In 2012, Clay Kaczmarek drew Machu Picchu within the Urubamba Valley in the Cryptic Messages he left behind in the Animus Project laboratory of the Abstergo Campus in Rome, Italy, shortly before his death.[3] The inclusion was meant to signify Clay's own journey in the Animus and where'd his ancestors had taken him.[4]
