The Hibuse Fudo Temple was an abandoned temple in Kii, Japan, that was used by the Japanese Templar and daimyō Kimura Kei as a training ground for his army, the Saisesha.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the samurai and Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke followed a lead from Kei's advocate Kumabe Ujiie and traveled to the temple to find and eliminate the daimyō. Allowed onto the grounds upon mentioning Ujiie's name, Yasuke saw Kei addressing a crowd of potential recruits. Walking forward, Yasuke accused Kei of being deceptive towards them. The daimyō responded by ordering his men and those gathered to kill Yasuke while he escaped to his quarters.[1]
However, Yasuke defeated all the recruits and three of Kei's Saisesha rōnin before confronting him. After a lengthy fight, Yasuke bested Kei, who accepted defeat but refused to give up Nuno Caro's location. He then offered his armor and helmet as a reward before telling Yasuke to finish what he started. Ultimately, Yasuke executed Kei and retrieved a letter regarding a new Templar target, "The Silver Queen."[1]
