Henry Lee III (29 January 1756 – 25 March 1818) was a cavalry officer in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

In 1781, Lee intended to hunt down the British cavalry officer Banastre Tarleton, but the Colonial Assassins believed Lee would be unevenly matched against him, and diverted Lee's path into John Pyle's militia, leading to Pyle's Massacre.[1]
