Biography[edit | edit source]

Talenti was known for finishing the Campanile of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, first started by Giotto di Bondone and later Andrea Pisano. When completed in 1359, Francesco deviated from Giotto's original plan in his design of the three upper floors, which he enlarged to match the previous according to perspective when seen from below.[1]

He also worked with Benci de Cione to design the Loggia dei Lanzi on the Piazza della Signoria.[2][3]
