Aletes was a Greek vendor working in the Sanctuary of Olympia in Elis during the 428 BCE Olympic Games.
After a rumor went around that the javelinist Pithekos was off his game, and everyone bet against him, Aletes asked the Spartan misthios Kassandra to look into it, while Aletes continued to take bets for the match.[1]
