Erechtheus was the son of Athena and Hephaestus who reigned as a King of Athens in Greek mythology.
The Erechtheion in the Akropolis of Athens was dedicated to him and various other figures.[1]
Father of Creusa, Erechtheus is also considered the grandfather of Ion, the founder of the Ionian tribe.[2]
