Emily Burke, otherwise known as Calamity Mily, was a pioneer during the American Revolutionary War. The only girl in a family of ten, she developed a rough and violent attitude, and learned the meaning of hard work and sacrifice at a very young age.

Emily had a difficult time adjusting to the limitations of her gender whilst she grew up, though when her father and brother were killed by members of the Templar Order, she abandoned her claim and searched for answers by hunting and killing the Templars she deemed responsible for the loss of her family. While she never joined the Assassins, she proved to be a close ally of the Order in the 18th century.

In 2012, her genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the entertainment branch of the Templar company Abstergo Industries, to influence the general public via the Animus games console, under the title of the Pioneer.
