The Daughters of Lerion was the collective term for the daughters of the wealthy East Anglian ealdorman Lerion, who claimed lineage from the House of Wuffingas. Namely, it consisted of Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia.
History[edit | edit source]
In 864, Lerion, with assurance of support from Ælla of Northumbria, sought to overthrow Burgred, the King of Mercia, and merge the two kingdoms into one, under the Wuffingas dynasty. However, his plot was uncovered by King Edmund of East Anglia, who had Lerion arrested and executed for treason. His three daughters, fearing they would suffer the same fate, abandoned their family estate and fled into The Fens,[1] where they devoted themselves to the occult and sorcery to plot their revenge against Lerion's killers.[2]
In the 870s, the Raven Clan shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir encountered Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia during her travels across England and defeated them in combat, obtaining their daggers, which granted her access to a hidden crypt beneath Lerion's Estate housing Thor's Helmet.[2]
