The Boeotian Rhapsody was a variant of the common Sledgehammer used in ancient Greece during the 5th century BCE.
During the Peloponnesian War, the mace was hidden in a chest in the Akropolis of Thebes in Boeotia. It was later recovered by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Boeotian Rhapsody, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the same model as the commonly found Sledgehammer, another weapon in the same game. These are both the recycled model of the Gruesome Mattock, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, and thus are all based on the Roman Dolabra pickaxe.
The name and the description of the weapon reference "Bohemian Rhapsody", a song by the British rock band Queen.
