Wales, also called Cymru in Welsh, is a constituent country of the United Kingdom, located on the western-most part of the island of Great Britain. It was the birthplace of several notable figures, including the pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway in 1693,[1] and the Sage Bartholomew Roberts in 1682.[2] The British Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye also possessed Welsh heritage on their mother's side, as their grandmother was a native Welshwoman and their grandfather was an Englishman from the Rhondda valley in South Wales.[3]
During the Viking expansion into England, Ubba Ragnarsson was known to periodically raid Welsh settlements along the coastlines when not leading the Great Heathen Army.[4]
