That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe were asked by Gyoji to stop the group of competitors in the arena at Ōminesan-ji that were killing all who attempted the tournament. The pair joined the competition, and eliminated Lord Unkai, one of the troublemakers, taking the weapon from his personal effects.[1]
