Obligatory defense of Liberation here. I don't think you can get more tedious than AC3's very lengthy introduction. Unity's just kind of bad in general. Liberation doesn't feel very tedious in comparison, at least to me; it's over really quickly and the only things that might be annoying are the "take no damage" full sync objectives in three missions.

EDIT: Yeah, Rogue's missions were quite well-designed in my opinion. They obviously couldn't be as open as Unity's, but I felt they gave enough breathing room while still giving the player a clear path to follow.
