The Condorcet Method was a virtual representation of one of Arno Dorian's genetic memories, relived by a Helix initiate through the Helix Navigator.
Description[edit | edit source]
Nicolas de Condorcet asked Arno to recover his papers from academic rivals who had stolen them.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
- Condorcet: Unbelievable!
Insufferable!
First they twist my ideas for the constitution, now they want to arrest me! - Arno: How may I help, citizen Condorcet?
- Condorcet: I must leave immediately Paris immediately, but you can retrieve my research on the history of political progress. My opponents seized it as soon as the warrant for my arrest went out.
- Arno: I'll be back before you know it.
Arno found the first rival.
- Rival 1: Good, it's all here. My thanks.
- Thief 1: My pleasure, citizen.
- Man: Does it make for good reading?
- Rival 1: It will look better with my name on it. It was the Condorcet's fault, really. I told him the Girondists weren't long for this world.
- Man: Neither is he, from what I hear.
Arno stole the paper from the first rival and found the next.
- Rival 2: It took you long enough!
- Thief 1: Apologies, citizen. Condorcet wouldn't leave his office.
- Rival 2: Condorcet can't even string a sentence together. I don't understand the fascination with him...
- Thief 1: You are too right.
- Rival 2: I wish I could see the look on Condorcet's face when this gets published under my name!
- Thief 1: Would that I could paint it for you.
Arno stole the paper from the second rival. He then returned to Condorcet with the papers.
- Condorcet: My papers! But how did you do it?
- Arno: My apologies, (Mister) Condorcet, but some things must remain out of your memoirs.
- Condorcet: Say no more. My thanks.

Arno returned the papers to Condorcet, allowing the latter to leave Paris.
