The prison in Athens, with Areopagus behind it

The Prison was located below Areopagus near the agora, facing the Akropolis Sanctuary in Athens, Greece.

History[edit | edit source]

Following the Battle of Pylos in 425 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was brought to and held in the prison after her capture by the Cult of Kosmos.[1]

After regaining consciousness in her cell, Kassandra was interrogated by her brother Deimos for her actions and what she knew about the Cult and their family. They were interrupted by the arrival of Kleon, who revealed himself as the Sage of the Delian League branch of the Cult of Kosmos. Dismissing Deimos, Kleon proclaimed his plans, and then sent two guards to eliminate Kassandra while Kleon himself left to prepare for his trip to Mytilene.[2]

Kassandra defeated the guards and was soon after freed by Sokrates and Barnabas, who returned her equipment and requested that she meet them back at Perikles' Residence.[2] While on her way out, Kassandra slew the captain of the prison, and claimed their valuables.[3]
