Akçe (symbol
) was the standard unit of currency formerly minted and used in Constantinople in Turkey during the Ottoman Empire.
When the Mentor of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins, Ezio Auditore da Firenze came to Constantinople, he followed the suit and began to use the akçe.[1]
