The Caravanserai in Baghdad was located on the city's western outskirts, near the Water Mill and southwest of the 'Aqarquf Dunes. It was used by the Order of the Ancients member Al-Ghul, the alias of soap mill owner Mas'ood Al-Ya'qoob, to procure laborers for his dig sites, which were used by the Order to search for buried Isu technology.

In the 860s, the Hidden Ones were able to uncover the caravanserai as Mas'ood's base of operations with help from the Zanj rebels Ali ibn Muhammad and Beshi.[1] The Master Assassin Roshan and her apprentice Basim Ibn Ishaq made their way to the site in preparation for Basim's first assassination of an Order target. With help from Enkidu, Basim identified ways to infiltrate the guarded site and eliminate Mas'ood: travelling merchants whose goods were detained by Mas'ood, and workers awaiting to be granted their freedom.
