Bulgar was a country in Eastern Europe.
History[edit | edit source]
In 870, during his travels east, the Viking Sigurd Styrbjornsson of the Raven Clan and his cousin Knud sailed to Bulgar along the Dniester river. There, they survived an attempted ambush at a swordsmith's shop, and discovered the location of a wealthy merchant's castle.[1]
This castle was also the destination of the Hidden One Ammon from Constantinople, who sought to retrieve a Shroud of Eden from it.[2] As Sigurd and Knud infiltrated the castle during a feast, hoping to loot its treasures, they encountered Ammon, leading to a fight. After the Hidden One mortally wounded Knud,[3] Sigurd killed him in turn and claimed his Hidden Blade. He then departed with his prize, leaving the Shroud behind as Order of the Ancients soldiers arrived at the castle.[2]
