Al Gore Jr. was born in 1948 in the city of Washington, D.C. He grew up on a family farm in Carthage, Tennessee, and in Washington, where his parents would work most of the year. His father, Gore Sr, was a Senator, no longer had any time to work on his farm and therefore hired a steward who went by the name of William Thompson. The Thompson became something of a second family to Al Gore Jr. His sister Nancy who was ten years older then him, studied law at the Vanderbilt University in Nashville and she became one of the co-founders of the Peace Corps, initiated by John F. Kennedy. She worked for several organizations in Europe and then returned to Tennessee, married a lawyer and together they worked as calf breeders. Nancy died in 1984 from lung cancer, she was a chain smoker after all.

When he was seventeen, Al Gore Jr. went to Boston's Harvard University where he majored in Government. Among his friends were Tommy Lee Jones, comedian Bob Somerby and today's respected artist Michael Kapitan. Gore's roommate was John Tyson, from New Jersey who worked as a businessman and development aid worker in Africa. In the mid 1960s, it was still unusual for a white student - especially from the South - to share a room with a black kid. Years before the Club of Rome published its famous report, Gore was interested in ecology. In his semester holidays, he worked as a messenger boy at the New York Times. Al Gore also went to the University of Mexico City where he improved his knowledge of the Spanish language which helped him in his contact with Spanish voters.

Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. (born 1948) was the 45th Vice President of the United States, serving from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He was also the Democratic Party nominee for President in the 2000 United States presidential election.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Gore and his campaign had the Assassins' backing, but he lost to George W. Bush, a pawn of the Templars. A contributing factor to Gore's loss was the Templar sleeper agent Daniel Cross, who infiltrated the Assassins and killed "the Mentor", dealing a great blow to the Brotherhood and their support of Gore.[1]

Following the Great Purge that wiped out most of the Assassins, the Templars were free to sway the election in their favor, ensuring Bush's win. The public was thus informed that Gore had won the popular vote but lost the election to Bush. Secretly, however, this was the result of the Templars manipulating Florida's electoral college results.[1]
