Hi, one of the admins User:Master_Sima_Yi told me i should ask you, so here is my Question.

"Hi, my name is GrandTheftAndi and i'm one of the admins at the German AC Wiki. I would like to ask if we could also use your wiki design, or maybe only the backround. I don't have much experience with editing the backround (don't know the size and how to reduce the size of the image). Also your Wiki has a very nice design, it's looks very different to many wikis (or at least different to the german wikis i saw).

So, would it be possible for us to use your design ?"

1. Hey, 16*. For my staff pic, I have two options to leave at your discretion. I know we are going for the ACR theme here, so hear me out on option 1: Altaïr was in ACR, and I've always followed the older AC1 system closer than anything else. So, we could slap my current avatar on the gradient background with your glow effects. Personal preference would be this one, but hey that's me. For option 2, to stick with conformity, I'd ask for black robes with a Crow face on it. Please do what you can and let me know your decision :) Thanks! Hello Steen.
As you well know, I have been unhappy with your performance for a long time on the postion of ComDev. The lack of any palpable Ubisoft relation, the constant action supposely "on behalf of the wiki" without any of us knowing and the lack of support or even reaction from you regarding the ACR incident we had a couple of months ago have been the final draw.
I've been patient, and asked you on no less than 3 separate ocasions to change your ComDev attitudes, but you never took them to heart -- apparently the wiki isn't among your priorities.
Even so, as recommend by my consiglierie, before taking action I have brought this question to most members of the staff, and they unanimously supported this decision. As such, I am hereby removing your rank and position on staff -- you've been absent from the wiki for a long time, and making Facebook posts does not require a Staff rank. I would also request one more time in addition to my previous unrequinted requests that you share the passwords of the Twitter account and similar to a few if not all of the staff.
I'll give you 48 hours to answer this before taking action, at the end of which your staff access will be terminated. If you have any arguments, now is the time to make them. Take care. -- D. Cello 05:21, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Cello,

I sincerely regret that it had to come to this, but it had to come to a head sometime or another. I can't say that it was unexpected. Admittedly I had been neglecting my duties as a moderator and editor here for some time. I make no excuses for this; I only aim to explain my frame of mind. My focus shifted to other things, external matters, and after an amount of time had passed, I had difficulty reaffirming myself on site. We had taken on so many fantastic editors in my absence, that I felt my role was almost void. I thought my attention might be better focused elsewhere. Off site. Social Media, external representation etc.

You may not see it the same way I do, but I'd like to think that the little work I have done has at least helped nourish cross community interactivity. I'd like to think that the 4,500+ likes on facebook and the 1,500+ followers on twitter had something to do with me. Don't get me wrong, I have never done anything for praise or recognition. I only aim to draw your attention to the small amount of success I have achieved on behalf of the wiki. I also feel that you may be slightly naive about how things really work. Just because I have reached out and established some sort of relationships with certain Devs does not mean that the answer my command. All I can do is respectfully ask. Which I have. On occasion, this has been fruitful, more often though - it has not. They, like everyone else, are under certain obligations. In-studio embargos, privacy agreements etc. It's not as black and white as you may assume. Your rash and irresponsible actions concerning certain Devs has something to answer for also. But as we all know - you are untouchable.

Your "unhappiness" with my "performance" does not concern me. It was never about pleasing you personally. My distress lies with the fact that I did not fulfil my on site position to the best of my abilities. I apologize to the entire team of moderators and admins. It has been a pleasure working with each of them. I take consolation in the fact that I have had the chance to work with some seriously talented people. Some whom, I have no doubt, will go on to do truly fantastic things in the future. I regret not getting to know some of the newer guys a little more. I'm sure they are great people too.

My parting advice for you, Cello, is to please drop the "I am the almighty" act. You need to stop throwing your weight around about how important you are on the wiki. How nobody could do what you've done. Pfft... of course they could. And they could have done it even better, I'm sure of that. You have done impressive things with the wiki in the past, for which you have my admiration, but you give yourself way to much credit for the combined effort of a truly fantastic team. Each editor should be seen as equal. Something which some have lost sight of. This warped notion of "staff" being better than others is ridiculous. This false idea of power has seriously gone to your head.
You have a duty, not power. The wiki provides a service. It is an information HUB. Not a business. You think of yourself as the CEO and other members of staff as your employees. They do this for free, they do not answer to you, they work together to improve the wiki. Not to impress you. Maybe the ranking system should be completely abolished. You must encourage contribution. Show the right path, methods and expectations of how to edit and add information. Not consistently assert your position over newer users and frighten them into hiding in the corner, and who only appear to kiss your arse. You all should be equal in this. Nobody is better than anyone else. We need to reconfirm that. Some may be better informed and possess a higher wealth of knowledge than others. But this should only be reflected in the technical powers they are granted. Regardless of our knowledge or personal ability, who are we to tell someone that they are not good enough? Not as good as us. That sickens me. It's so self boasting and patronizing.

If you truly cared for the wiki and put it before your ego, you would realize that the wiki would flourish even more so in the hands of another. In Sima's. You are bureaucrat by default. You were not voted in by current staff or because of your knowledge, personal skills or abilities. Your consistent temper tantrums and outbursts and well as your inappropriateness at times has bothered the team on more than a few occasions. A moderator position might be more appropriate. Let someone else, who does not value themselves above all others, take the reigns for a while. That is my advice for the benefit of the wiki. To increase it's appeal to new and old users alike and to insure it's popularity into the future.

Once again. It has been a pleasure working among such interesting and talented people. I have been truly blessed. I will continue to try and promote and expand the wiki's influence and reach as much as I can (via facebook, twitter, etc). I have a sincere love for it and will try to do what I can to reflect that.

What a grave mistake. What a way to completely cut off the vast majority of ties to this Wiki that your former ComDev forged. What a joke! The one person that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring attention to this place, and you demote him? Who the hell are you to make such a decision? Where is the evidence of the overwhelming majority you clim supported this? Proof or GTFO!

How do you cut off the major source of traffic to this place? You who claimed annoyance at the Wiki not getting recognition. And yet, the person that worked to get the Wiki its status is now being thrown to the wind? WHAT A JOKE!

If by absent you mean he has not edited, then we should "remove" you and Elchzard, Cello. Elchzard has been inactive except creating a template once a month and you, I haven't seen you edit ever since I joined this wiki a year ago. Least Elch helps out on the IRC, but you, your last major edit was to the Italian assassins page, which you did not bother to complete. You may think that the current staff system makes things easier, but it doesn't. There is no community consensus, there is avoid between the staff and regular users created by this wiki's hierarchy. Normal wiki tools have been converted to privileges only a select few can have, they either have to be a staff member which has a limitation of 12 or they get left out of all the decisions and tools that might help/encourage them. There are contributor who have a lot more ideas better than the 12 individual of the staff. And some of them do not bother due to the restrictions you have set. I got blocked cause I was trying to help what I thought was a community. Is this the type of encouragement a new user deserves? I don't think so, but this is how things are now.
Now, about this "palpable Ubisoft relation", what do you expect a corporate company to do? Release pre-game information to a site they cannot profit in anyway? Its just not possible for game developers to give any sort of exclusivity.
Steen deserves better than this, he built the social network community better than anyone in the history of this wiki, and now he has to give up just cause he didn't get Ubisoft to kiss your ass and didn't edit at the wiki?? This hierarchy system is the problem here. I don't see the point of removing Steen due to inactivity, it might be just the rollback rights he has here, but he has a greater knowledge of the community following this wiki.. --Vatsa (talk • Gentek) 13:31, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

AC:Initiates

Hey, Steeny. This is DarkFeather. Alright, I have a question. I've been on the waiting list for Initiates for months now. I followed it daily when it was open, and now that it's gone closed I've been hunting for a key ever since. No one will talk to me or explain the selection process.

Just heard that another round of keys were released, and to people who signed up day of, apparently. I've been on the list for months now. What gives? I'm Staff on the Wiki, I've had my account since Uplay started, I have each game and bought the collector's edition, I'm a professional sysadmin... I'm failing to see where a value-based selection process wouldn't find me worth the serverspace of an account.

I would really like to know how the selection process works and why I'm being denied. If I'm going to be denied, I would like some disclosure on why as a professional courtesy. Closed-doors events like this are making me reconsider my preorder strategy, considering that it continues to earn me the ire of the comdevs rather than access for the loyalty to the franchise. I would appreciate any insight you can provide.

I would love to be able to contribute to this project, nondisclosure and all, but without that key I can't. Furthermore, it's a small insult that I can't even find out why I'm not being considered.
