The Daidalos Fort was a fort overlooking the city of Gortyn in Messara on the Greek island of Krete. Named after the mythical figure, it was built to protect the city and the region, and was occupied by a sizeable military force.
During the Peloponnesian War, the fort was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra on the request of Ptolemaios, the head of the boule. There, she destroyed the military weapons and supplies to weaken the city's power.[1]
