  • curprev 05:1105:11, 4 June 2024imported>Sol Pacificus 4,823 bytes +1,076 Technically citations in the intro are supposed to be omitted if the same info is cited in the body so as to keep the intro as clean as possible. This is a wiki standard. But I was a bit confused here. Sora's line about tradespeople using it for self-defence in the Sengoku period doesn't reappear in the body even though it's similar to another statement I make; I wanted to preserve other citations for the <30 cm but the others don't mention it being a *legal definition*, etc. cin gbere le

  • curprev 03:2303:23, 4 June 2024imported>Sol Pacificus 3,749 bytes +1,939 The long ⟨ō⟩ in Japanese is another way of romanizing おう (ou) which is different from お (o). Technically, tantō is spelled tantou, and tanto is a misspelling. However, English sources do have a habit of omitting the macron. I advise against this b/c it is technically a misspelling & can cause confusion down the road as more pages are made. / I think tantō is sufficiently familiar in English that I'd be ok not italicizing but keeping it to avoid confusing editors. cin gbere le

  • curprev 21:4121:41, 3 June 2024imported>Sol Pacificusm 1,810 bytes 0 Sol Pacificus moved page Tanto to Tantō: Remember that when it comes to spelling/romanization, we decided that we would be correcting for errors & also using our own consistent standard. We are already marking long ⟨o⟩ for other pages, so we would have to do so here as well. This is also technically more correct spelling even though sometimes people like to drop the macron. cin gbere le
