Fanon

This may seem like a stupid question, but how do you create a fanon page on here? I've written one, but I'm not sure how to create it on the wiki. --Jjacobmartinn (talk) 18:21, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

I think I'll grab this one, Vats. To make a Fanon, you need to start by creating a new page, but make sure to put "ACFanon:" (without the quote marks) before the story/character's name. I can then add the Fanon template for you if you wish. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:30, October 2, 2012 (UTC)

Question 'bout comments.

We all love our edits and blogs, but you have to realise that blog activity has increased uncontrollably. Off-topic comments, trolling, console wars, all of these flood the Wiki activity. Since there was an active page, using that reduces multiple blogs based on similar topic and it is easier for users to reply for an opinion at one places. I just relised through checking of old pages that one of my old profiles is still active. I couldn't access it about a year or so back so I assumed for some reason or another it was deleated and started again. Issues with the wiki

Hello, you're an administrator on this wiki, so I thought that I'd reach out to you. I used to be really active on this wiki, something like 900 edits. Three years later, I have a request for someone administratorial.

Interlanguage links

It seems that at some point, an admin (who mysteriously was later superbanned by Wikia Staff) removed all the interlanguage links from the Main Page. This is terribly counterproductive. It shields all the other languages from people knowing they exist, and the Spanish, Polish, Arabic language wikis all suffer.

I would STRONGLY recommend, as the administrator of my own Wolfenstein Wiki, that you paste that into the bottom of your Main Page (next to any Categories). That will add links to all the other wikis connected to this one, on the bottom of the page, outside of the article, in the "Languages" section. That way, people will be able to find them, and people will be able to contribute to them.

Monobook

I would also take notice of issues with the alternative Monobook skin for this wiki. Try it out. There's some serious readability problems. Someone should look at the CSS and make it usable, like my Wiki is.

Thank you for informing about the monobook. A few Wikia Staff members wrote the CSS for that, I haven't meddled with that since. As for interwiki links, we decided to remove it. There were concerns about content and image attribution. Although the contents can be shared, other wikis didn't seem to bother linking back to this wiki. I would be very happy to modify my personal Monobook in search of an improved way. The wiki actually looks very good and professionally made, it's just some major issues with the color of text that are causing readability issues. If I find a solution I can submit it to you for inclusion across the wiki.

I would have to firmly disagree with such a decision on interlanguage links, though. You can never expect foreign-language wikis to be as well-made as their English counterparts, especially a very large, otherwise well-maintained wiki such as this one. Wikia is in no way as serious as something on the scale of Wikipedia anyway, and copyright and sourcing and all that are still important, but not enough, in my opinion, to exclude an up-and-coming foreign language wiki from exposure to users. It's worth notice that many articles contain the language links regardless of the Main Page- see Assassin's Creed for an example with eight. Elecbullet (talk) 07:29, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

My signature is an image, Trever. If you are good with Photoshop or any similar program, you can create your own. Or you can use HTML like most user.

A Few Content Questions

Hello again. I was wondering a few things about the content on here. Number one - for achievements, on some Wikis each achievement has their own page. Is this against your policies on here? I looked and didn't see anything against it, but wanted to make sure before I went ahead and started adding that content. Also, interlanguage links - are these allowed? I know for awhile D. Blog Post picture

Hey Vatsa, your bot deleted a picture I'm using in one of my blog posts, even though it has relevance to what I was posting about. The picture in question was a screenshot from a TV series called Sharpe. It was a picture of Sharpe, a British officer, with what appeared to be an Assassin insignia on his back belt. My blog post was an Assassin's Creed 4 idea where the Assassin ancestor is Sharpe. So, by any chance, would it be ok if I re-uploaded the picture, or would the bot still delete it?

No. Couldn't use Texmod after 1.03 update for ACR. Having similar issues with ACIII. Unnecessary and pointless

I recently have edited "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (novel)", a page where it's trivia says that in the book Ezio was christian but in the game it was "never alluded to". By the way, it was clear during The Da Vinci Disappearance that Ezio said that his Church is not of God. After your analysis, Mr. Vatsa1708, this information was considered "Unnecessary and pointless". Could you clear my mind about this? I mean, it was said that it was never alluded, to allude is to mention, and it was mentioned by Ezio himself. How come this is unnecessary? I really think this is useful information, showing Ezio's fidelity to the Creed, another quote that he says in the same memories.

Well, I don't see this way. I see no sarcasm on his quote, since it's clear that he knows what came before and what drives all religions he coexisted at the time. Salaì asked if he wore religious robes, the same question Sofia Sartor would do about four years later. He just said that his Church, it means, his Creed is not of God, cause his creed is beyond what religious doctrine would explicitly say. I know the section is about differences between the two versions, but since it is stated that it wasn't mentioned, but it was, a simple note should be done. Hey! You offered the quite curtious offer of leaving a message here if you can help with anything, I think I'll take you up on it.

I'm all but certain that I have an account with wikia of "NexTerren," but when I try to sign in it claims that it doesn't recognize that username--not that my password is wrong. I then tried to sign up, but it informs me that my username is taken. I turn around and attempt to recover my password and it tells me--once again--that it doesn't recognize that username.

I'd really like to use that username as it is the one I've gone by close to a decade, but perhapes more important than that I can safely assume that the account will be linked to my GMail which has been used for quite some time itself, and I really need to use that address, or create a throw-away e-mail for wikia, which seems like a silly notion.

For some strange reason, probably an update from Wikia, all badge images have been resetted. I tried fixing a few of them, but I don't have the original images, nor the memory of which goes where. Still confused.

So after reading the Wiki Sourcing Policy, especially "No original thought" section, I'm still not really understanding why the image was deleted. I mean, if the name "Ghost of Altair" was the issue, than I just named it that because of the inverted color, and I can change it if it's going to be a problem. CSS Help Needed

Memory differences

I believe you're the right person to ask this to. About the one project called Absolute Symbiosis. On the original Assassin's Creed, there are some memories that are not present on my playthrough. An example of this would be this memory. In it's place, there is an eavesdropping mission where you hear the servants mentioned by the informant. Can you explain this to me? RE: Liberation template

In response to the offer of working on the memory pages, I discussed it with my mentor DarkFeather, and we've decided it's best that I work through the Liberation content alone as it is my graduation project and is replacing the usual final four tasks of Apprenticeship. We understand this. I'll amend this to say that Arc won't be penalized if another user creates the page -- just that he's not to have any explicit help in getting the content up. If another user posts the info, Arc is just to revamp it for accuracy and MoS and then move along so that the content is relevant and he's touched it. That's really what I care about. I see that you removed my rendering of your image off of the page. I see that you said "Don't bother rendering in-game screenshots", but is there a rule where in-game images aren't allowed to be rendered? Given the quality of the database ripped images, we, or least I am thinking of adding in-game screenshots to ACIII characters. We do not have proper angles for most characters. Without a proper angle, we cannot render that image, causing a "consistency" issue with the infoboxes. Admin Dashboard > Wiki Features > Chat > On. This will make the site free for users and those who do not have windows etc. I hope you understand why I feel this is indeed vital for the site. The Chat Moderators and Administration team, it would be a lot better and neater.

I'm not sure how long you've been around Wikia, but IRC is free for all. In order to use Wikia chat, a registered account is required, but anyone can join the IRC, even users without a Wikia account. Most are not concerned about creating an account just to clarify a minor issue with their game or a character.
As for your concern about users without Windows; we have a webchat link just for them. This can be used if they do not have any IRC clients. We also have [Assassin's Creed Wiki:IRC/Pick Your Poison|tutorials] if they are willing to install a client.
Chat moderators and admin team; well, the channel we have is maintained by Kaishiro, Elchzard and this wiki's staff.
