Project Aperture

Darky, sorry if I can't be on for much longer last night. I've been looking at the Portal and it looks great! :D Here's a few things you need to fix first, though.

You don't need the gray thingy for the Portal. The admin banner is supposed to cover the entire bottom part. Also, there is no Apprentices section in the Administration, ince you guys already have one in the Community section. Finally, a Timeline section lies at the bottom of the series part. Alty's image is supposed to go in the middle, leaving a small section free for us to link Project Timeline articles at the bottom. I did a quick edit just to show you, but it's kinda rushed. xD BTW, awesome work, Darky :D Animusradiation  talk / contribs 22:27, September 4, 2011 (UTC)

Just asking

Hey, this is Kazel R.o.d and I'm just kind of trying to understand why you undid my edits to the glyph page? I changed 'were' to 'was' because that is correct or 'is' could also work, 'Desmond were then presented with' that doesn't make sense. I understand I shouldn't have used the word 'you' in my rewrite of 'The Origin of Species' but why revert the whole thing back? The way it was is wrong because it says 'below the eyes at the top' but there is only 1 eye and it only appears when the cursor is held over it so that would make my revision right but I just need to remove the 'you' and reword it, right? Alright, first and foremost, the whole article needs to be in past-tense. So, that takes some work for you. Quality looks good. Compare it to the Manual of Style and included sample article -- it'll be good for you to have read those as a whole for future projects. Other than that, make sure to set images to thumbs at 250px, right. Open another page in source mode to see how to set a thumbs. My profile page should be the same. I appreciate the compliments :) You are more than welcome to take a look at our CSS, if you want. MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Wikia.css are mostly what hold it. I used :hover attributes on the images and set the border, initially black, to turn a grey when the object was rolled over. About 1px is enough to make it visible but not enough to make it overpowering. Thanks for asking, and feel free to borrow as needed with credit given! You're missing Template:Portal/Component/Slider. In order to have the pages show withing the same page without a new pageload, you can't just link out like you are right now. You need a Portal Slider to form a javascript shell holding the pages. The shell can then change the pages at user command and link out only when desired, like to your Facebook and News. If you want me to handle an install, it will take some time, and I'll have to sandbox it first. You'll need to rip (with attribution) Trixie and my MediaWiki:Common.js engine, and start adding tags around all your subpages. Sandbox

Hey Dark, just finished having a look at your sandbox. Overall it looks exceptional, I have to say, especially with the use of new images such as the Abstergo Animus console and the Grand Temple screenshot with Desmond and William. The Desmond Journey image looks great, although I don't know whether you're planning on adding a "News" title onto it in the same format as the others?

Under games, the images fit well and I personally like the text, and I think its lucky that they are 5 main games and 5 spin-offs, or else it would of looked odd if it was uneven.

The admin section looks good too, I personally think the image is good match for that section, although it still says Istruttorium and there's another template for Portal/Main, but that might be for something else, apologies if it is.

The only things I would change would maybe be to move Connor to the left a bit more in "Series", and the Bloodlines image cover for "Games" is different to the shape of the other spin-off covers, so I would change its shape to match the others. If possible though, of course. This is just me though, it's all up to you.

I can still see code here and there so its definitely still in the works, but overall it looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the finished product! <choose><option>http://images.wikia.com/assassinscreed/images/7/7f/ArcemzSig.png</option></choose>

Good day,

I want to bring into attention a small detail from Kaniehtí:io's page and I have no idea who to ask:

It is explained how she died inside a collapsed, burning "hut", however this is using the wrong vocabulary. The right word is "longhouse", not "hut". Otherwise, it is like trying to describe Bruce Wayne's mansion as a "cabin". 

Considering that the longhouse concept is still in use today in Haudenosaunee communities (though not for the same reasons as before and they are built differently) and considering that it is not a word hard to retain, nor to understand (a house that is long and can hold up to 10 families, at least back then), it bothers me to see that mistake. An understandable mistake that will keep being made (I have seen it elsewhere on the Internet), but it bothers me still.

They could build huts, but they would not live in huts.

Reason?

Out of curiosity, why did you revert my edits? The infobox image was unsourced / unlicensed, so I removed it (due to the fact that 1. it's probably going to be deleted and 2. I doubt unsourced / unlicensed images are wanted on articles). And I removed the infobox due to it being quite pointless without and infobox, and quite unnecessary in the first place. Well, let's see. There's no need to throw good info out. The image I didn't intend to see returned, but the info can be kept. If it's not to be in an infobox, it might as well be integrated into the rest of the article. But, until that happens, might as well keep it. Interesting. I've never seen this before. I'd check your system requirements, and perhaps reinstall the game with the appropriate patches. Final Project

Mentor, I have just uploaded the portal images to the actual portal. Unfortunately, it has not come out quite right. I can probably fix the minor images such as lining them up flush with each other, but the main issue is the images coming up adjacent to each other and not how the data fragment is lined up: File:Animus-data-fragment.png.

Have a look here, in my sandbox, to see the portal. Sorry for the trouble, but I'm still happy to continue working on the project regardless. Hey, Dark, just replying to your message. I'm fine, no need to worry. I'm still actively visiting the Wiki everyday, looking through forums and articles and things. Still determined to finish my fanon, aswell. I would like to speak to you about the portal work because I'm not entirely sure what I need to be doing, I have a rough idea but it would be best to get confirmation from you.

The main issue with communication is that because we're in different time zones it makes it harder to be on the IRC at the same time. Throughout the week I'm at school so I can't go onto the IRC during the day, and on Tuesday and Thursday I have sport training and Friday I have another function - all of which don't finish to about 5 p.m. So that leaves Monday and Wednesday as the days when I could hop onto the IRC after school if you're there. The only other option is the weekends, and although I play sport on Saturday I'm usually home by 1 or 2 p.m. Sundays are always free so that's the ideal time for me to be on the Wiki and IRC. I'd stay logged into the IRC all day but whenever my laptop goes to sleep it disconnects, which is annoying. But I do appreciate the concern, and you needn't worry. I'll make time. You asked me for a source. Here is one of them. This is the description of the memory Knowledge (Masun) from Memory Block 2 of Assassin's Creed:

Masun was executed by Al Mualim for his treason. But even at the end, faced with the prospect of oblivion, he insisted his grievous work was just. I know not howRobert poisoned his mind, and I worry he is but the first of such men. The Templar must be stopped. 

The proper definition of treason is "the act of betrayal of one's own group or country". If he had just been a citizen, he would have said he had been executed for his betrayal. Another quote is the very one that adorns the top of Masun's article. The rest can all be found in the Masyaf segment of Memory Block 2 in the game. As noted by the previous editors, the people of the Masyaf village were under the Assassin's protection but not necessarily Assassins themselves. "One of our own" could mean "one of our own villagers" as easily as it could "one of our own Assassins"; it is am ambiguous statement that leaves the listener to speculate.

As for the memory, I cite the above: if you assist the enemies of those who would protect you, is that not also a betrayal?

At no point is Masun clearly designated an Assassin in the same way Abbas, Malik, or even the trainer Rauf is. He never wears the robes that even the initiates in the Masyaf courtyard wear. There is no clear evidence he is an Assassin, though the speculation is not without merit. As it is speculation, however, it stays out of the article. I don't think you're understanding what I meant about treason. Treason doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as betrayal. It is a specific type of betrayal: the betrayal of a group you are part of, like a country or group. That is why the traditional punishment for treason is death. Dont forget about Assassins Creed Victory. It's the new Assassins Creed coming this Fall of 2015. Its on Xbox One, PS4, and PC! You should write an article about it! Wiki background

Hey, Dark. I was recently wondering how we've managed to get our wiki background into a good, fixed position like we have. I've tried to do the same with another wiki, but have got no idea how to do it. Is it some .css coding that I'm unaware of? Glitch

i died during a side mission by a train just on the checkpoint and now it keeps loading my character disychronized!

neither the map button works nor the options.

i tried restart the game and after continue jacob is stil disychronized!

Since Dark has not played Syndicate yet, I'm going to take the liberty of answering this question. I happen to have had the same problem in a Darwin memory, after accidentally killing someone with a throwing knife instead of tailing them. in Stargate seaon 3 episode 13 Apothis is seen using a hidden blade very similar to the assasin creed blade. He also peformed the same moves with it as you can do in assasins creed. We have a debate with you edit warring without the community consent. That's not respecting other community members, which is not acceptable.

So, no, until there is a consensus, no edit will be enforced and Staff reserve the right, by community vote, to protect content on pages. Hi DarkFeather, thanks for the welcome. I’m wondering if you could help me: one of the Unity collectibles is "Letters from Élise de la Serre", a series of five letters. However, in the novel, Élise writes two more: one addressed to both Ruddock and Arno, and another kept within her journal directed solely to Arno. Do I file all the letters under "Élise de la Serre’s letters", or just the Unity letters under "Letters from...", omitting the other two?
