In late June 1582, [[Yasuke]], the former retainer to [[Oda Nobunaga]], traveled to Ōtsu to meet with a contact of Lady [[Nene]] more information on the [[Shinbakufu]]. The contact, a shrine maiden named [[Aoi]], informed Yasuke of an upcoming scheduled to take place on [[Seta Bridge]] in the east, where one of the duelist was a Shinbakufu member.
