In 1852, former [[soldier]] [[Simeon Price]], under the alias of "Jack Straw," received a pearl-handed razor from his new employer and mentor, [[Oscar Kane]]. The razor was a gift for Price to use as a means to protect himself.<ref name="Chapter 03">''[[Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy]]'' – Chapter 3</ref> During a winter party at the Baron [[Julius Jacob von Haynau]]' home, Kane and the baron's lawyer [[Karl Mayr]] reconvened privately only for it to take a turn as Mayr began to strangle Kane.
