The English army arrived at Scone days before what Deorsa had expected, attacking them and setting fire to the building. Sören ordered Fillan and [[Kyle Macdougall]] to flee through the woods while the others would engage in combat. The English, however, were aware of Fillan's existence, by way of the Templar informant and gave chase. Kyle took Fillan up on the trees and they progressed slowly but without drawing attention, until she slipped on a branch, which ended up alerting them. To draw attention from Fillan, Sören confronted Cornavii, with both men injuring the other.
