'''Fort San Pedro''' is a former [[Fort|fortress]] in [[Cebu]], [[Philippines]], situated in Plaza Independencia, in the pier area of the city. The original fort was built from [[wood]] in the late 16th century on the order of {{Wiki|Miguel López de Legazpi}}, the first {{Wiki|Governor-General of the Philippines}}, before being rebuilt in the early 17th century using [[stone]] to repel Muslim [[Piracy|pirates]]. ==History==
In 1725, Fort San Pedro was taken over by a native resistance led by the {{Wiki|Visayans|Visayan}} chief [[Rajah]], who were able to easily infiltrate it thanks to most of the [[Spain|Spanish]] garrison being preoccupied with an ongoing riot in the city. After eliminating the few Spanish [[soldier]]s that remained at the fort, the resistance warriors awaited the arrival of a [[ship]] to get them away from Cebu, as their original plan to escape from the city's harbor had been thwarted by the [[Zhawang Corporation|Zhang Wei Union]].<ref name="EP 68">''[[Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple]]'' – [[Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple Episode 68|Episode 68]]</ref>
