The '''house''' of the writer [[Al-Jahiz]] was located in the [[Round City]] of [[Baghdad]], outside the southwestern wall surrounding the [[Palace of the Green Dome|Caliphal Palace]].

During the 860s, the [[Hidden One]] [[Basim Ibn Ishaq]] came upon Al-Jahiz's House and discovered to be tightly locked with no area of entry, except for a breakable portion of the second floor's roof. He managed to locate an explosive jar and destroyed the roof, gaining access into the residence.
