==Biography==
In the late 16th century, Iwatora was walking by a market and spilled his soup on an unsuspecting woman. The woman turned around and it was love at first sight. Within a year, he and the woman Yaya married.<ref>''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Floating conversations]] – Fujibayashi Naoe</ref> As a ''rikishi'', he began to train Yaya and in time, Yaya had once bested him in combat. ===Legacy===
At some point, Iwatora passed away, leaving Yaya alone and down the path to join [[Kennyo|Honganji Kennyo]]. Yet, her path left a young orphan boy [[Tetsuo]] under her tutelage lost, which led him eventually to join a group of [[Thief|thieves]] and ''[[rōnin]]''. At some point, Tetsuo stole Iwatora's ''kanzashi'', one of Yaya's last mementos of him. Along with the help of [[Iga]]n ''[[Ninja|kunoichi]]'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]], they tracked down Tetsuo and recovered the ''kanzashi''. Before Yaya could enact punishment, Naoe pleaded for forgiveness for the both of them. Understanding, Yaya forgave Tetsuo and asked for his forgiveness, to which he gave. As a result, Naoe asked Yaya to join their [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] league, to which Yaya accepted.<ref name="Stray Dogs"/>
