The '''Roman Fort Ruins''' were a ruined complex in eastern [[Northern Wilds]], [[Al-Ula Valley]]. In the 860s, it served as the stronghold of the [[Robbers of Al-Ula|robbers]] commanded by [[Nimlot]].

==History==
In 106 CE, the {{Wiki|Nabataean Kingdom}} was annexed into the [[Roman Empire]] under [[Trajan]], and Roman presence spread through the area. A garrison was then established at Hegra to protect and collect charges along the [[Incense Road]], being manned by [[Roman army|legionaries]] of the {{Wiki|Legio III Cyrenaica|Legio III}} of [[Cyrenaica]]. By 860s, it had been taken over by the robbers, who kept tight control of who was allowed to access it, requiring a signal from a bone whistle from someone standing at a precise point marked by their symbol.<ref name= "Tracks in the Desert">''[[Assassin's Creed: Mirage]] – [[Valley of Memory]]'' – [[Tracks in the Desert]]</ref>

[[Basim ibn Ishaq]], having learned his father [[Ishaq ibn Khalid]] had been kidnapped and was being kept at the fort ruins, infiltrated the compound<ref name= "In the Vulture's Nest">''[[Assassin's Creed: Mirage]] – [[Valley of Memory]]'' – [[In the Vulture's Nest]]</ref> by using a whistle he'd acquired from the [[Robbers' North Outpost]].<ref name= "Tracks in the Desert"/> Basim made his way to the inner tower Nimlot had locked himself in, where he was confronted by the merchant, who had planned to kill Ishaq while Basim watched mirroring the moment where he'd witnessed the Hidden One kill his own father, [[Mas'ood Al-Ya'qoob]]. After revealing himself as the son of Al-Ghul, Nimlot then attempted to kill Ishaq, though was stopped by Basim before he could reach the older man. The Hidden One then exfiltrated himself and his father from the stronghold, but not without also taking [[Nimlot's Sword]] with him.<ref name= "In the Vulture's Nest"/>

==Behind the scenes==
At the time of the release of the Valley of Memory update (1.1.0) in 18 November 2025, this landmark was named simply "Roman Fort" and was renamed into Roman Fort Ruins in update 1.1.1, released a month later.
