'''The Tsuno''' (died 1582) was a [[Japan]]ese warrior and former monk who lived in the [[Harima]] Province during the late [[Sengoku period]]. He served and was mentored by [[Bessho Harumasa]], who led a revolt against the [[Oda clan|Oda]] forces after [[Oda Nobunaga]]'s death.

==Biography==
By 1578, the young monk and his grandmother had lived at [[Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple]] with his fellow monks. However, upon [[Oda Nobunaga]]'s attack upon Harima, many of his fellow monks were massacred while he and his grandmother played dead among the corpses. After the Oda forces left, [[Nakamura Tadashige]] and his followers found them and saw the young monk speechless over the amount of death.<ref name="A Voice in Anger">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[A Voice in Anger]]</ref> However, his shock soon turned to rage and he took the opportunity to serve [[Bessho Harumasa]], who planned to revolt against the Oda forces and fight for their province.<ref name="DB"/>

After the [[Honnō-ji incident|death of Nobunaga]] at [[Honnō-ji]],<ref name="Temple of the Horseman">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Temple of the Horseman]]</ref> the monk, now called the Tsuno, had followed Harumasa and easily took back [[Miki Castle]] from the Oda [[soldier]]s. They later turned to [[Tanjosan Myoyoji Temple]] and captured the remaining monks, along with Tadashige, whom Harumasa gave a choice to join his army or die as traitors. While the Tsuno and Harumasa left, the monks and Tadashige were saved by the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]]. Aided by Tadashige, they sought to stop and kill Harumasa, who was secretly a member of the secretive collective, the [[Shinbakufu]].<ref name="A Voice in Anger"/>

While Naoe took care of the watchmen, Yasuke entered the castlegrounds and challenged Harumasa to a duel. While Harumasa accepted, the Tsuno offered to be his proxy. When Harumasa left, the Tsuno and his men faced off against the [[samurai]] but soon fatally lost the challenge.
