- Seems that James Kid is in fact Mary Read in her male disguise. She was the other famous female pirate (or piratess if you prefer) who was also a partner and pirate 'sister' with Anne Bonny. The two were a very dangerous pair when they joined forces and were also in cahoots with Calico Jack. Nice to know huh, all?
