Assassin's Creed is a flagship product for Ubisoft. There has been much speculation about possible settings of this game. Corey May stated that Assassin's Creed will never take place during World War II. Asked about future of the series, Sébastien Puel from Ubisoft said that "[...] we could do 35 of these [Assassin's Creed games]", while Laurent Detoc from Ubisoft said "we hope to reach Assassin's Creed 10". Alexandre Amacio, game director of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, stated that though Assassin's Creed III is likely to bring the story involving Desmond, who has linked together all of the games so far, to a close, it will not necessarily mean the end of the series. When Assassin's Creed returns, it will be back with a new central character. Amacio said there are "many cycles within the brand – that's the whole point. History is our playground". Amacio mentioned that the development cycles at Ubisoft Montreal are changing, too, so that following Assassin's Creed III, teams will be given additional development time, and without a yearly-release schedule to boot.[13] Corey May stated that Assassin's Creed III plot leaves possible sequels "plenty of room to play". Associate producer Julien Laferrière said that further Assassin's Creed games featuring new hero Connor depend on reaction to character, stating "We made three games with Ezio because people loved Ezio." In November, 2011, Empire State Gamer spotted a supposed Ubisoft survey that could have outed locations for future Assassin's Creed games. The online quiz asked participants which locations and time periods they would like to see in the "next Assassin's Creed games". Alex Hutchinson, creative director of Assassin's Creed III, suggested the most requested Assassin's Creed settings, WW2, Feudal Japan and Ancient Egypt, are "the three worst settings for an Assassin's Creed game". However, Hutchinson stated both he and Corey May were open to the idea of setting a future franchise entry set during the time of the British Raj which now consists of the modern states of India and Pakistan. In November 2012, The Gaming Liberty spotted a supposed Ubisoft survey that suggested another annual instalment could be set for release next year. The survey asks participants how they would feel about a return of Desmond, Connor and the American Revolution setting, and if they had purchase such a title if it were to be released next year, suggesting that Ubisoft has its eye on repeating the Brotherhood and Revelations route of the Ezio trilogy(but we know they are not going to make more trilogy's). The survey was also said to ask how participants would feel about the introduction of a co-op mode, and how they feel about Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, possibly suggesting a move to more scripted gameplay. Shortly there after, in an interview with Ubisoft Brazil's managing director Bertrand Chaverot, Chaverot revealed that the next game in the series may take place in Brazil, though the magazine Techtudo later updated this to remove mention of the future game's location, bringing the validity of the report into question.
