The Munychia Fort was a fort located on the hill of Munychia in Piraeus, Greece. In 403 BCE, it was the site of a battle fought between exiled Athenian soldiers led by Thrasybulus and a Spartan army under the oligarchical Thirty Tyrants' leader Critias. Originally under the oligarchy's control, Thrasybulus and his army took the fort with the help of the misthios Kassandra. The next morning, the Athenian exiles and Kassandra defended it against Critias' attack, ultimately culminating in Kassandra killing Critias on the nearby hill, leading to a victory for the Athenian exiles.[1]
