Rhoeo was a Greek woman living with her fourth husband on their farm in Euboea, Greece, during the 5th century BCE.

Biography[edit | edit source]

When the Spartan misthios Kassandra came to look for information regarding the local bandits, The Dagger, and especially their leader, The Kingfisher, she found Rhoeo deep in her cups. Nonetheless, Rhoeo could still offer clues for Kassandra to follow in order to find Rhoeo's husband, the farmer, who knew the Kingfisher.[1]

She also mentioned that, before the current farmer, she had lost three other husbands, and wasn't fond of the idea of losing "this one, too."[1]

Afterwards, Rhoeo and the farmer could be found embracing on the terrace of their home.[2]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Rhoeo shares her name with a lover of the god Apollo, who became the mother of the mythical founder and king of Delos, Anios.
