The Qasr al-Azm (English: Al-Azm Palace) is a palace in Damascus, Syria, built in 1749 as the private residence of the city's governor, As'ad Pasha al-Azm.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In September 1757, the British Templar Haytham Kenway and his assistant Jim Holden travelled to the palace to find and rescue Haytham's half-sister Jennifer, who was kept there as a servant for As'ad Pasha al-Azm's household. Disguising himself as a eunuch to infiltrate the palace, Haytham reunited with his long-lost sister, but as they tried to escape, the guards discovered the intrusion. Holden volunteered to stay and fight the guards, buying Haytham and Jennifer enough time to flee but resulting in his capture.[2]
