This article is about the observatory in Baghdad. For other uses, see Observatory.

The Observatory in Baghdad was located in the Abbasiyah district, northeast of the House of Wisdom. Many scientists used the site in their astronomical research, including Al-Mahani.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim ibn Ishaq visited the Observatory and made the acquaintance of Al-Mahani. Suffering from heart problems, Al-Mahani sensed his death fast approaching and asked Basim to recover his life's work before it fell into his rivals' hands. Basim did so, although by the time he returned with the treatise, Al-Mahani had passed away.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Concept art of the Observatory depicts it as being based on the Jantar Mantar observatory in India. However, the actual building in the game is of more generic and non-particular construction.
