Mungo MacBean was a Scottish ironworker during the early 19th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Married and a father of six, Mungo worked for Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway where, in 1831, he built a steam locomotive that would eventually become the Train Hideout of the British Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye.[1]

In 1834, Mungo's health deteriorated rapidly, so his eldest daughter Agnes took over his role of maintaining the train, disguising herself as her father.[1]
