Man in the Iron Mask

The Man in the Iron Mask (c. 1640 – 19 November 1703) refers to an unidentified prisoner held in various French prisons during the reign of Louis XIV of France.[1]
His face was not revealed, as he wore the eponymous Iron Mask. While many assumptions have been made about his true identity, none have been revealed. Among the most likely theories is that he was an illegitimate son of King Louis, and the mask has supposedly never been found.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
In the mask's Database entry, Shaun Hastings claimed that the Helix initiate and the general public all knew the identity of the Iron Mask, and that he died during the sinking of the Titanic. It is a reference to the actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who both played lead roles in both the 1997 film Titanic and the 1998 film The Man in the Iron Mask.
