Domenico Garofoli was the Venetian governor of Cyprus during the early 16th century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

When the Assassin Ezio Auditore arrived on Cyprus in 1510, he found himself stuck without anyone who was willing to sail him to Acre. He decided to visit Garofoli, hoping that he would help him, being a fellow Italian. However, it soon became clear that, although he was polite and hospitable, the governor was not willing to help Ezio in any way. Garofoli told Ezio of the tensions between the Ottoman Empire and Venice and of how a mission that had not been sanctioned by official diplomacy could trigger an international incident.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Domenico Garofoli is a fictional character; the historical Venetian lieutenant of Cyprus at the time of Ezio's visit would have been Nicola Pesaro.
