Cruwland is an abbey in the south of Lincolnshire, England, north of Medeshamstede.
In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir visited the-then half-flooded and ruined abbey, which had been occupied by a gang of bandits. After Eivor unintentionally sat on their makeshift throne, the bandits attacked the shieldmaiden but were immediately cut down by her.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Cruwland is a location in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla which references the real life town of Crowland and the Crowland Abbey, founded by Saint Guthlac.
