The Council of Five Hundred was the lower house of the legislature of France under the Constitution of the Year III.
Between 1795 and 1799, several members of the Templar Order managed to infiltrate the organization. They based themselves at the Palais Bourbon and sought to continue the Reign of Terror and oppose the efforts of Napoleon Bonaparte.[1]
The French Assassin Council learned of this plot and sent Arno Dorian to assassinate the members.[1]
