Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860) was a German philosopher.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In May 1853, an original German-language copy of Schopenhauer's 1813 doctoral dissertation On the Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason, was given to the Assassin apprentice Simeon Price, by his mentor Oscar Kane. After having finished the thesis among the other books given, Price returned them to Kane. Price admitted that Schopenhauer's dissertation was impossible to get through.[1]
